Courses
Training delivery of these courses is at the Institute with opportunity to reside on campus,
or by 'distance' education and flexible learning. Experience can be gained in the Health Education
Centre on campus and in public education programs delivered by staff of the Health Centre.
Accreditation of courses has a number of benefits for students:
- It provides a standard against which courses and RTOs can be judged.
- It assures the student the courses they are studying are of an appropriate standard.
- It assures the student the educational principles of the RTO are sound.
- In the case of private RTOs, it ensures they meet government guidelines for their courses.
- It assures recognition by industry and public or private organisations and therefore, the ability to gain paid employment
- It promotes the recognition of courses between RTO’s and allows for credit transfer and recognition of prior learning.
This means there is now a newly recognised field of vocational education in preventive medicine;
a recognised Medical Missionary course that entitles the graduate to legally teach the eight laws of
health in the context of health education programs and lifestyle programs
